A Type of Toad have been in existence in the BVI since early 2009. Neil (drums) and Gilbo (lead guitar) are two of the original three members and are still rocking along with Debbie (vocals) Myk (bass) and Vicky (keyboard/guitar).
They play a mix of original rock and roll mixed in with their own take on many classic and modern tunes. The shows are not just about the music, along with stage effects and often unusual dress codes and their not exactly “serious” attitude on stage has made them popular with locals, ex-pats and visitors alike.
A Type of Toad can be seen playing in bars and charity gigs all around the BVI, notably Drakes Point at Fort Burt where they can be seen regularly.
The toads are hibernating over the summer as a few members are away on vacation, but will be back and rocking the Rock in December when they are hoping to record a few of their original songs.
A Type of Toad really rocked the closing party at The Last Resort : See our pictorial story on it here.
